It's more of a road grime and dust thing than a salt thing out here. Smithfield's on the main commuter corridor so cars rack up the kilometres, and there's a fair bit of construction dust floating around from ongoing development. That stuff is fine and abrasive — it works into the clear coat slowly and dulls the paint over time. Regular decontamination and a bit of protection goes a long way.
Depends on the car and what it needs — every one's a bit different, so we'd rather look at it and give you a real number than guess. As a rough guide, a Mini detail starts at $150, an exterior detail from $325, interiors from $275, and a full detail from $599. Give us a quick call and we'll sort it out.
Honestly, it depends on the car and how long you're keeping it. Ceramic makes a lot of sense on a car doing daily kilometres — it cuts down your maintenance and protects the paint properly. But if it's a budget car you're planning to sell or move on from in a year or two, a good detail and a pre-sale clean will do more for you than coating it. We'll tell you which one actually makes sense when we see it.
