Terms of Service
These Terms of Service govern your use of the Posh Wash website (poshwashdetail.com) and the detailing services provided by Posh Wash Detail Pty Ltd ("Posh Wash", "we", "us"). By booking a service or using our website, you agree to these terms.
1. Our services
We provide mobile and in-bay car detailing, ceramic coating, paint correction, interior detailing, and related vehicle care services across the Cairns region. Service availability depends on your location, the condition of your vehicle, and access requirements (power and water on site for mobile bookings).
2. Quotes and pricing
Quotes provided online, by phone, or in person are estimates only. Final pricing is confirmed after a physical inspection of the vehicle. The actual cost may be higher than the initial quote if the vehicle requires additional work due to its condition (heavy contamination, deep scratches, severe interior soiling, biological staining, etc.). We will always discuss any price changes with you before starting additional work.
3. Bookings
Bookings can be made by phone, text, web form, or in person. A booking is confirmed when we send you a written confirmation (SMS or email) with your appointment date and time.
4. Cancellations and reschedules
- You may cancel or reschedule a booking up to 24 hours before your appointment at no charge.
- Cancellations within 24 hours of the appointment may incur a $50 fee to cover travel and held time.
- If we cancel due to weather, illness, or operational reasons, we will reschedule at the earliest available time at no charge to you.
5. Mobile service requirements
For mobile detailing at your location, you agree to provide:
- Access to a standard 240V power outlet within reach of an extension cord.
- Access to a working tap with running water (for most services).
- A safe, level area to work on the vehicle, with reasonable shade where possible.
- Owner or authorised person to inspect and approve the vehicle on completion.
If we arrive and cannot complete the service because the site does not meet these requirements, a $80 callout fee applies.
6. Pre-existing damage
Before commencing work we inspect your vehicle and flag any pre-existing damage (dents, scratches, paint defects, interior wear, mechanical issues). We are not liable for pre-existing damage. Some defects may only become visible after cleaning — we will photograph and notify you as soon as practical.
7. Workmanship and results
We use professional-grade products and techniques and take great pride in our work. Results depend on the starting condition of your vehicle and the service booked. While we aim to exceed expectations on every job, we cannot guarantee:
- Removal of every scratch, swirl, or stain — some damage is permanent and requires services beyond standard detailing.
- Restoration of severely degraded paint, clear coat, leather, or trim to a "like new" condition.
- Complete elimination of odours that have permeated upholstery or carpet underlay.
If you are not satisfied, contact us within 48 hours and we will discuss the issue and, where reasonable, return to address it at no charge.
8. Ceramic coatings
Ceramic coatings carry the manufacturer's stated lifespan when correctly maintained. Lifespan is reduced by neglect, automated car washes with abrasive brushes, harsh chemical exposure, and prolonged tropical UV. Coating performance is not warranted beyond the manufacturer's terms, which we will provide on request.
9. Payment
- Payment is due on completion of the service unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- We accept card payments via Stripe, bank transfer, and cash.
- A 1.7% surcharge applies to credit card payments to cover processing fees.
- Overdue invoices may incur a $25 late fee after 14 days.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by Australian Consumer Law, our liability for any claim arising out of or in connection with our services is limited to:
- Re-supplying the affected service at no charge, OR
- Refunding the price you paid for the affected service.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, including the consumer guarantees that apply to services.
11. Photos and marketing
We may photograph or video your vehicle before, during, and after the service for quality records and occasional marketing use (social media, our website). Number plates are typically obscured. If you do not want your vehicle used in marketing, let us know before the booking begins.
12. Right to refuse service
We reserve the right to refuse or stop a service if the vehicle presents a safety hazard, contains biohazardous material, is suspected to be stolen, or if the person presenting it is abusive to our staff.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts or tribunals of Queensland, with small consumer disputes handled by the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal (QCAT) where applicable.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date shows when changes were made. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance.
